Site Shutting Down

The passing of recent draconian bills has led to the speculation and even hysteria(much of it understandable) over the future of adult sites and the future of SouthernGFE.

As it stands today, SouthernGFE will more than likely shut down at some point in April or June.

But this decision was NOT made as a response to the recent bills passing. This was a decision that was made about this time last year, and had been contemplated for at least the last three years. We were going to shut down the site last year, but decided to extend it another year.

Anyone familiar with the site will know that we are a FREE site and funding is done through affiliate links and sales. We could have implemented a simple pay system or a tiered membership program, but that's not something that we ever wanted to do. The site is and always has been about safety and giving ladies an advertising alternative so that they didn't have to fully rely on other websites using predatory tactics and manipulation. It wasn't about making a profit off the ladies, because we never felt that staying safe should come with a price tag. As long as we could make enough through affiliate sales to keep the site up, then that was good enough to keep it going.

As to why the decision was made to shut down the site, all I can say is that it was part time constraint issue, part refocusing of priorities, and partly a response to the influx of self-righteous, cantankerous cunts in this so-called industry.

In short, there are just too many rotten horrible women calling themselves escorts now. The good girls are maligned and driven away by the hordes of skank whores who do nothing and know nothing but to create animosity. Apathy set in at some point. I can deal with the malicious website owners and the "hobbyist" douchebags who prey on the women—addressing them and weeding them out is why the site was established in the first place. But why deal with it when the ladies become every bit as bad as the guys? Hell, they're probably worse nowadays. Much worse!

More clarification will come at a later time. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions in the meantime.

Even though this site wasn't popular in my area, I still loved knowing that it was created by a successful, caring and driven provider . It seems that during the past few years every site started by a provider end up shutting down and that sucks to have to rely on sites created by men. I wish that it wasn't shutting down, I just got back to touring and was making this site a to go for advertising.... So sad

I am really sorry to hear this site is shutting down. It was a nice place where everyone's opinion, even if it were opposite, was respected. Where do we go from here. It is so crazy in this industry now chaos all around us. I hope there is a way we can keep this site open. I am certainly will to contribute to that. Please let us know if this is an option.

I would have to totally agree with the brock, when I first started doing this , it was a totally different ball game . It use to be fun and enjoyable. But now it a bunch of bullshit, some guys are so disrespectful rude and just plain mean and I could imagine some of the women also. I love what I do or at least I use too. But the bullshit that come along with this is sometimes not worth it. We shouldn't have to treat our dates like a business deal however those that want to be stupid and try and give us counterfeit bills, or make an appointment and not show up or call, or when we don't offer what your looking for you call us bad nasty names. I miss how it use to be . Im not saying the women dont do these things . I can only speak from experience. Its actually really sad . the world we live in is really sad. Hopefully we can all come together help change things for the good. One day

Instead of just taking the entire site down, I thought about leaving up a small portion of it to use as more of a Resource center where ladies can find news, info and links to groups, orgs and individuals who are actively fighting this scourge of a law. There are a handful of sites out there and a handful of individuals who are working overtime to help ladies cope with this attack against livelihood. I'm sure another one wouldn't hurt, even if it is to a much smaller degree.

Yes, I know that's not really helping the ladies who are now faced with little or even no income, and the destitution, violence and coercion that will result from a heinous law that will do the exact opposite of its stated intent. But it could at least provide some kind of rallying point and an organizational tool so that everyone is on the right page and working together toward a coherent message and strategy—think along the lines of synergy.

Truth be told, if it weren't for the authoritarians passing their draconian laws and forcing other websites to shut down, I could have taken this site down and most people wouldn't have noticed or even cared. I am still trying to figure out how to take the site down—which was already planned to happen—without further harming ladies who have already been harmed enough.
